Biography
Born and raised in Berlin Kreuzberg, Germany, Anri started playing classical guitar at the age of 11 and switched to electric guitar at the age of 13.
In 2006, at the age of 21, Anri got accepted to the renowned German music college Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. While there, he studied under renowned European guitarist Frank Möbus.
During his time at the university, he had the opportunity to participate in various masterclasses and workshops with artists such as John Taylor, Palle Danielsson, Martial Solal, Carlos Bica, Jeff Cascaro, Michael Schiefel, Carsten Daerr, Jim Black, Renaud Garcia Fons and Martin France.
To further his education, Anri attended Berklee College of Music in 2011 on a special 1 year scholarship. Anri has also worked and composed for various TV commercials and musicals in Germany, including the famous “Film Studios Babelsberg”.
After receiving his Master’s Degree in Jazz Guitar in 2013 from Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar, Anri moved to Japan and started working for The American Guitar Academy in Tokyo.
As the director of the company, he helped to grow and expand the business from 2014-2020.
In 2020, as a Berlin-native & Tokyo-based musician, Anri is continuing his work as a guitar instructor in Tokyo, his own original art, compositions & improvised music. In addition, he is also the creator of his own online Jazz guitar courses.
