For some, it’s about playing their favorite songs. For others, it’s about self-expression, creativity, or even performing on stage. These reasons mean something different to everyone. On the guitar, each person carries their own unique “why.”

Whatever your “why” may be—no matter how big or small your dream is—it has become my passion to help you turn that vision into reality and support you every step of the way.

What I Do

My name is Anri Maruyama, and it has become my passion to help people reach—and go beyond—their goals on the guitar.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching hundreds of students, helping them achieve real progress and turn their musical goals into reality.

Bringing a student’s initial vision to life—helping them play the music they love and grow as musicians—is what drives me every day.

I’ve worked with a wide range of students across the Tokyo area, each with different backgrounds, levels, and ambitions, and have consistently helped them achieve meaningful results.

From young beginners picking up the guitar for the first time, to preparing students for music colleges and scholarships, to teaching advanced jazz guitar and improvisation to experienced players—my goal is to support you on your musical journey.

I’m here in Tokyo to guide you with clarity, structure, and long-term growth, and to help you become the guitarist you aspire to be.

My Story

I’m originally from Berlin, Germany, and hold a degree in jazz guitar from a leading music college.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of students—from complete beginners and hobby players to advanced musicians and those aiming to become professionals.

No matter your starting point, I tailor each lesson to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
